One of the showcase exclusives for the PS3-system, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, is a mixed platformer, 3rd-person-shooter and brawler. Developed by Naughty Dog, It focuses heavily on story and plays like a classic matinée in a modern setting which archetypical heroes and villains.
I tried to play it "as an explorer" and not immediately go exactly where I'm supposed to, at least in the beginning. I try to avoid doing things the cheap way in the fights, but some are rather hairy, even on normal, so I resorted to some cheap tactics. I tried to vary the combat as much as I could, but I never was any good with "powerful-but-slow" weapons, so those don't get much use. Finally, I left a couple of deaths in there just to show why I hate one mechanic in the game; the vine/chain swinging. It's so arbitrary and random I want to puke sometimes. All the other deaths (there were many) are edited out, hopefully in a transparent manner that you won't notice unless you're looking for it.
The bonus-movie consist of a blooper reel with most of the various ways to die, a costume party with some of the more interesting additional skins unlocked as rewards (you can also play as other main characters of the game, but I ignored those), and finally a bunch of featurettes from Naughty Dog; a "Making Of", some interviews with employees and three "Tech Dive"s which focus on technical aspects of the game.
There are Matroska-chapters embedded in both files, so if you have a player that can show them, it is easy to jump to different parts of the movies.
This is my first LP, hope you like it. At least the game is awesome... -
