PS4 DriveClub - Road to Rookie Trophy - Sunday 12th July 2020
While taking my car for a service at the dealership, I got to try DriveClub on their Playstation 4 in the waiting area (Whilst keeping my social distance of course) and found it quite arcadey and lots of fun so I decided to get the game and give it a bash for a few hours.
I'm yet to try the Bikes mode, but I will persevere with the cars for now and see if I can get to the end. Notice my driving becomes more and more erratic as the difficulty levels increases.
The game consists of circuit races with laps, point to point and time trials with ghosts. In the middle of this, you'll need to achieve specific tasks such as getting a top speed or finishing in the top 3 places to achieve a number of stars that count to unlocking more cars and paint options for your garage. It's realistic looking enough and quite smooth and easy to pick up and play straight away.
I'm always late to the party with games and I usually get them once they've been out for a few years. This is a good quick alternative to Gran Turismo or Project Cars if you're after a quick bash of a racing game. Plus it's varied enough in that you don't have to race with the same car over and over again.
