PS4 Purple and White Snow Flicker Video Problem
5UPDATE: Confirmed with the collective that it is most likely a hardware problem. Returning to GameStop today.
Ok Mystery Team. I have a PS4 video problem. Personally, I think it is the GPU. You decide.
Purchased PS4 on Christmas Eve 2014 from Gamestop. It is the no bundle bundle. I have updated to the latest software version 2.03. Everything has been normal up until today. 12/30/2014. I set up my Twitch account for sharing last night. No video issues. Today, everything looks normal until I launch NBA Live 2014 demo...and then I start getting screen flickers and purple pixelated snow. So I shut'er down. Comes back up and looks normal at menu screen. Launch game...bam...same problem. Shut'er down again. This time. I launch Blue Estate. The problem persists.
What I tried:
Rebooting. Check
Inspect PS4 HDMI Port: Check
Check for overheating. Negative: Check
Different HDMI Cable: Check
Different HDMI TV Port: Check
Different TV: Check
Check For Software Update: Check
Color Depth Setting Off: Check
Tried All Resolutions in Settings: Check
Curse the gods: Check
Record Weirdness Using PS4 Share: Check
Unplug Console and leave unplugged for 5 minutes: Check
Google My Ass Off: Check
Post video to YouTube describing my problem and asking for help: Check
PS4 Initialization. Check

I am thinking since it only happens once I launch a game (3d) that there is something there. The reason I do not think it is the HDMI port and beyond is because it appears in the recorded video that is built into the PS4.
Since I can't really find anything on Google/Youtube about the problem as described, I think it is probably a hardware problem.
One more interesting thing to note. The problem is not apparent in the menu screen until you launch a game. The problem does not go away until you "close the application" if you have the game "holding" in the background while in the menu then you will see the problem in the menu.
