So the burning question for all is "Does this game needs those toys" ... Depends on what version you bought ... the Digital 60$ version has all things unlocked right from the start ... but the disc version needs licenses to unlock Ships/weapons/Pilots ... its Ubisofts Internet AccessPass 2.0 that they promoted back in the Days on PS3 to screw Used Sales and people that buy games second hand ...
So i need the RF Tag reader to play this ? No you dont ... on the BD disc there is One Ship and 3 weapons ... aka all things you need to finish this game till 100% ...
So what do those Pilots give me ... Main Abilities from the ship that well to me are pointless ... What do those Ships give you ... its theirs 1up Continue System , but the spawn points this game has and that you can also place are SO MANY ... you simply put dont need those ships , lulz ... but what about those Weapons ... same thing you dont need them , each weapon you have can be modded to ANYTHING !!! hahaha and also you can pick up Elemental Canisters that give you temp abilities ...
So then why do i need the Controller Gimmick ? Its for kids that want to physical change those weapons ... and it does change them on the fly , from wings to weapons placed backwards ... just for the lulz of it ... but if you dont care , you can change it in the menu like i do ...
So they build it as a Toys to Life game that screws with Physical Disc Users but not with those that bought the digital copy ... kinda
So now the nitty gritty ... The tutorial is from 15 min to 2h ... in my case , wanted to 100% the Planet ... that can be done in 4h ... you have 7 planets ... so 30h-ish to complete the main game ... and countless Side-Quest in Space that you can Explore ...it is a 50h+ game, but then there are people that already speedrunned this game under 3h , hehe
And now lest speak about the Nintendo Switch version ... the only version that has Two campaigns just to make you buy it ... with Star Fox Chiped toy that unlocks it ... Simple put, if you have a Switch get it ... its worth it , but if you also have PS4 the graphical comparison to it ... its night vs day
I place this game in my Excellent pile ... for a thing that Ubisoft needed in a long time , a unique addicting game ... oh and this game is already priced 2/4 of its original price ... and some chains sell those toys for ...3/5 haha ...
