PS4 Remote Play - Connection And Lag Test (Via Internet - Low Quality Setting 360p)
27In this video, I am testing PS4 Remote Play from my Mac to my PS4, which is physically located somewhere else. The video quality is set yo Low (360p). Locally, we have 50Mb/s up and down speed, remotely we have 30Mb/s down and 5Mb/s up speed. The PS4 is in Rest mode prior to recording this video. Sometimes, it takes several attempts to connect to the PS4. It took me up to 6 tries in previous recording attempts. Please note that whenever I was actually connected to the PS4, I had then put it back to Rest. So for this video it was definitely Rest-ing.
Also, please note that I synchronized the screen capture and the controller footage using a simply click audio/video that I generated with Audacity prior to recording. So the lag you may see here is indeed what you would get. It is not a tremendous lag at all and absolutely playable. I can recommend this as long as the connection itself can keep up, which will most likely the biggest problem when in public places or hotels.
