(PSPEMU) Twisted Metal: Head On speedrun (Dark Tooth / Story / Super Easy / 10 min 44 sec 857ms)
A speedrun of Story mode with Dark Tooth on Super Easy difficulty on the original PSP version of Twisted Metal: Head On. It was interesting to speedrun here on the PSP version compared to the PS2 version: there are some perks to the original PSP version that compliment speedrunning, such as one less level (no Transylvania), the AI actually going after you (you don't have to pursue them), levels being smaller in size and far more pickups than the PS2 version. On the other hand, the bosses are harder to deal with from a speedrunning standpoint (especially Tower Tooth), some weapons aren't as powerful as the PS2 counterparts (Napalms and Remote Bombs), and muscle memory can make adjusting to the PSP controls difficult. I've actually input the Killer Weapons code twice by accident, forcing me to restart. One of the most annoying parts of speedrunning with Dark Tooth is that special either drops the enemy right in front of you or throws them away (it consistently and always chucks them away on the PS2 version). I'm torn between wanting it to consistently throw the enemy away like on the PS2 version (helpful for Cousin Eddy so that he doesn't get a chance to blitz away from you using his Special as well as chucking enemies out of bounds), but having it drop the enemy in front of you was extremely beneficial for the Tower Tooth fight during the second phase. The record for a Dark Tooth Super Easy run on the PSP version was 10 mins 56 secs; it took a long time to beat that record, as I generally ended up finishing most of my runs within the 11-12 min range. I'm sure a better time than that is possible, but since it took a long while to get this time, I'll just stick with this result for now.
