Twisted Metal Black - How to instantly destroy Warhawk's shield
12Ever since accidentally coming across the phenomenon where you may occasionally deliver 2 hits to Warhawk's shield upon destroying a tanker a couple times, I decided that I would try and figure out a way to replicate it on a consistent basis. What I ended up discovering later however, turned out to be even better - a way to destroy Warhawk's shield with only ONE tanker, off the very first one. This requires the Satellite skill weapon - the method is consistent and will reliably work as long as the tanker is close enough to Warhawk, and you don't have Warhawk over your head to intercept your Satellite weapon. At worst, if the tanker destruction only damages Warhawk's shield instead of destroying it, this deals 2 hits to Warhawk's shield, so the battle will still go by more quickly. But we want the 3-hit shield takedown to make for faster speedruns.
With the Satellite weapon, make sure the tanker is disabled (duh), then place the targeting reticule under the tanker. Repeatedly mash the Fire weapon button (L2 by default) to launch the Satellite and immediately have it crashing down onto the tanker with Warhawk close to it. This should yield a complete destruction of his shield. If you don't immediately bring down the Satellite and have it crashing down any second later, the tanker destruction will always only deal damage instead of destroying Warhawk's shield. As long as you're repeatedly mashing the Fire button, this shouldn't really be an issue.
EDIT: There are 2 additional ways to get a triple shield hit from the Tanker destruction. One is using a partially charged Reticle (so at least 2 of 3 skill based weapons are viable for this strategy), and another is using the Minion Energy Attack (this option is more for style points than anything). That makes 3 options to instantly destroy Warhawk's shield. The Satellite is still the easiest one to execute, but you have choices for when you don't pick up a Satellite weapon.
