This playthrough was originally possible thanks to Japanese guide that I found on a fansite. However, since the strategy only lists the main "path" and doesn't explain how to achieve 100%, eventually I had to make my own plan. Nevertheless, kindly read the guide (and use Google translate) to get the rough guide to beat the game.

After beating this game countless times, eventually I achieved my first 100%. Rank is determined by both Enemy% and Disc%. To achieve 100% you need to defeat around 200 enemies and collect all 50 discs. The former is definitely far harder than the latter. Basically you have to kill everything whenever you explore new areas, and sometimes backtracking is also mandatory just to increase your kill count. Enemies are NOT respawned so there will be "missable" enemies if you fail to kill them before certain flags. Moreover, bullets are very limited so basically you'll need to pick up all Energy Packs and conserve as many bullets as possible. Early enemies MUST be defeated only by melee attacks since bullets will be used for late-game enemies and bosses.

There are still some rooms of improvements since I didn't take an optimized path. There are battles that I think I can conserve more bullets in order to kill the last boss faster. I also didn't fully utilize the special ammos, which can be viewed as one method to conserve bullets.

By manual counting, I found out that I actually killed a total of 215 enemies in this playthrough, excluding bosses and unkillable worms. Therefore, I'm sure that some enemies are not necessary to be killed. My first suspect goes to Maggots since there are four of them near the elevator before you try to go to B2F for the first time. Those weak monsters on the special room that requires a key to be entered are probably not necessary as well. But better safe than sorry.
