Pump It Up Infinity is a coin operated video arcade dance game. It is the 25th game to be released in the Pump It Up series and is exclusive to the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. It is the first release developed by Team Infinity alongside Andamiro. The main genres selected for this game include Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Hip Hop, and Rock. Infinity is available as both a dedicated Pump it Up machine or an upgrade kit for any existing Pump It Up machine.
Infinity is not meant to be a sequel to Pump It Up Pro, but is intended as a reboot of the original idea behind Pump it Up Pro: A Pump It Up game that is uniquely geared to audiences in North America and the United Kingdom.
Like Pro, Infinity was created using a modified Stepmania engine. Infinity is based on Stepmania 5. Unlike the PRO series, which was by a few members of the same studio that created In The Groove working in conjunction with Andamiro, Infinity is handled by Andamiro using their Team Infinity subdivision. Infinity's development is planned to continue post release, with new USB updates planned to provide new content to expand upon the initial release version.
Infinity is the first Pump It Up game to offer two different timing windows. "Classic Mode" keeps traditional timing windows, while "PRO Mode" tightens the window to make it comparable to In The Groove. A player's game mode settings can be configured and saved by a USB pen drive.
