Pup might not be the most exciting hero but as long as you get some early supports you can be strong through the early and mid-game every time.

Also I think Pup is the single best hero to abuse Adventurer and power level to 6 very early, allowing you to leverage your early/mid-game strength into a fast endgame comp.

Pup is just a very all around solid, if not a bit dull hero. just my opinion of course. :)
