Missed this in the initial coverage of 1982 games because MAME thinks this game came out in 1984 for some bizarre reason. Anyway, this unreleased prototype (also known under the name "Protector")... is actually pretty neat! You play as an invincible Not-Superman whose "lives" are actually the citizens that you have to protect from evil villains. It's like a single-screen Defender, I guess. Unfortunately it uses a trackball to move which is always a challenge to emulate properly, but I can't hold that against the game. If you want to play this on an actual cabinet, you'll have to go to Galloping Ghost Arcade as they have the only known cabinet of it on the floor.
