12This game had been known about for a while, with the flyer and certain screenshots being available online, but no board had ever been found and dumped. Then in January 2024 a collector from Germany mentioned he had access to a board, and after some forum drama, the board did get dumped and is now officially playable in MAME as of 0.264. So this is hot off the presses!
Now did the game live up to the hype? Well... it feels like this game was going for some shock value in having the player control a vampire, determined to suck the blood of innocent maidens running around a city. Contact with priests/nuns carrying crosses or holy water fountains instantly melt the vampire into a pile of bones... why are they never this easy to kill in video games when they're the villains?
What the screenshots DIDN'T tell us is that this game kinda runs like garbage! It constantly freezes up for a second every time you capture a girl, leading some to ask if the stream was dropping frames - no, that's just how the game is. The isometric perspective is kinda clunky to control too since you constantly get caught on corners. Overall... it's a game that probably would have left a memorable impression on you had you actually come across a cabinet back in the day (this is another game where it's not very clear whether or not this game was a prototype that failed location testing, but it seems likely), but gameplay wise... it's not great! Maybe worth a play just for the laughs. I can't get over the silliness of the "bite neck" bonus stage.
