Python Mk2 Five Shards Meltdown Orthrus Massacre Before the NERF [Elite: Dangerous]
17In this watch & learn guide, we feature the Python Mk2 built in a role it was seemingly meant for: Titan Meltdown Orthrus Farming. Using 5 Shards with anti-guardian zone resistance thanks to Ram Tah, the Mk2 farms Orthrus here better than Spires, netting one billion bonds every 30-45 minutes.
With the giant nerf coming Tuesday, Orthrus will be reduced from 40m to 15m each, so making money like this won't be possible again. A decent payout for future meltdowns, and a build with 6 Shards is totally possible with this ship.
Tips:
- 3 or more Caustic Sinks - Killing this many Orthrus in the same spot creates a huge caustic cloud.
- Synth Standard shard ammo - If you have Guardian Sentinal Weapon Parts, chances are you have more Standard reloads than Basic/Premium (takes less mats).
- I've been emptying my shards, synth reload once, synth one caustic sink, empty shards again, then self-destruct for fast travel R&R (roughly 1 billion every 45 mins this way, save on mats).
- 6 Shard Cannon build works with 6A Distro, but requires 5F Stabiliser in size 6 optional slot.
