This week's QT30E video is on a #PlayStationPlus game called #Tinykin from #Splashteam and #tinyBuild. I wanted to try this game because the screenshots on the #PlayStation Plus store looked great, maybe too great for a #PS4 game. Plus it looked like it's gameplay would be similar to Pikmin so i was curious how it would differentiate itself.

It starts, without warning, with the premise to the game. i don't like when games do this, but thankfully for this game i enjoyed the art style and premise for the introduction. unfortunately, all of it is ignored in this video to the point where it just doesn't make any sense. It makes me think that they had an art style, they had the mechanics, and they tried to build a story around it but were unable to. throughout the video i keep on commentating on it.

It's possible that the game does go back to it's own story. But to go soo long into the game ignoring what story it has already set up, would almost be not worth it. the story i started to create in the video would probably never match were the game tries to go, ultimately leaving me unsatisfied with something that initially made me excited to play it.

This story issue is such a shame as graphically it's an amazing game. Not only are the graphics great to look at, but because everything is nice and clear, the levels are designed in such a way to take advantage of it. often i could look out across a level and work out the route i needed to take because i could see everything. The music helps to round out a nice playing experience. as i say nearer the end, i stopped playing for the story and just played to do the stuff in the level.

In the level i played, there was soo much to do. there were multiple main quest things, several side quests, and soo many locations that i couldn't explore them all in the time of this video. the level was fun to explore as it was often well designed that when i needed some things to do some smaller tasks, i wouldn't have to look too far for either everything or an example of what i need to look for. some tasks are small and immediate, some take more time and more exploration, whilst others are a bit more puzzlely. it was a fun experience.

I would recommend Tinykin from PlayStation Plus. it may not be game you play for the story, but it is one that is fun to pop into for 20-30 minutes to do small tasks and exploration. it's just a shame that they failed so badly with the execution of the story. Oh, there's no manual saves either. that also annoyed me as when i came to ending the video i didn't know when the last autosave was as the game didn't tell me.

Why not buy me a Vending Machine Bottle of Coffee over on https://ko-fi.com/qtegamers
