Quake 2 Easy Mode
0Thought I'd dry a pc port and it's definitely much nicer to have a mouse aim. Sadly there are a few areas that bother me a bit. The recording crashed before I could rant a bit so I'll do it here.
1 Timers cripple exploration
Though it might be interesting to have a timer shorten the length in which you are expected to do a thing (adding tension or realism) Having a timer, In our case Drowning, counting down when you're just hoping to look around for some secrets is annoying on two levels.
For starters it means that instead of getting to search thoroughly and entirely satisfy your curiosity you have to rush and try to get your task done as fast as possible before time runs out.
Secondly it makes it VERY frustrating when you don't find anything. Instead of popping out having wasted a few seconds looking for nothing I wasted a few seconds and PRECIOUS health looking for nothing. This is a huge difference given the type of game this is.
And no I don't consider this to be a fair frustration caused by difficult gameplay this frustration is caused by someone setting a timer to a short length. I have to wonder if anyone tested what clearly is a mod of the Game I played Hardmode on...
