You wanna know something really cursed? The PS1 version allows to run the game with a mouse but not keyboard. This means that you have to move with the D-pad while moving a mouse as well.

The run was overall pretty good but I died once by the final boss since I didn't get the stun lock.

With Vardemir's wisdom in the comment section, I was able to improve my run quite a bit.
