ตั้งแต่งาน E3 2016 ที่ผ่านมาทาง id Software ได้มีการเผยถึงเกมใหม่อย่าง Quake Champion ที่มีเกมเมอร์หลายคนรู้สึกสงสัยว่าตัวเกมที่เห็นนั้นมันเป็นแนว MOBA รึเปล่า ทางด้าน Tim Willits ผู้กำกับเกมนี้ก็ได้ออกมายืนแล้วว่า “ตัวเกม Quake Champions ไม่ใช่เกมแนว MOBA แน่นอน” หลังจากนั้นเราก็ไม่ได้ข่าวคราวอะไรจากเกมนี้อีกเลย จนกระทั่งล่าสุดก็มีความเคลื่อนไหวออกมาให้แฟนๆ ได้ชื่นใจกันแล้ว โดยมีการปล่อยคลิปวีดิโอตัวใหม่ที่อธิบายถึงความสามารถพิเศษของละตัวละครทั้ง 4 ตัวที่เคยโชว์ให้เห็นกันไปแล้วในคลิปวีดิโอ CG Trailer ตัวแรกที่งาน E3 2016 นั่นเอง
