The 2 second improvement all comes down to the teleporting ogre trick FINALLY happening! I've been waiting years for it to happen, and I litterally do mean YEARS! I knew it was possible and only a question of time. Too bad I didn't get past the 2nd ogre at the start quicker, or else it would've been a 39 :-) This demo is one of those "once in a lifetime" demos that you will never be able to re-produce, nor do I want to, it's not worth the time spent waiting for the teleporting ogre trick to happen again. There's even a small route change in the demo, see if you can spot it ;-) Check out the "bloopers" demo, it contains some silly ways to fuck up an e3m7 run, or to have a perfect run ruined by something unexpected.
Maybe I should explain what the actual "teleporting ogre" trick is: Normally, after you've run through the first teleporter, an ogre appears in the small narrow passage, and it's impossible to pass unless you shoot it. Due to a bug in Quake, it sometimes occur that the ogre teleports to another location on the map, that being the fiend pit area like in this demo. To my knowledge,
this trick is the hardest one on any id map to re-produce. As I started out by saying, it's been years since I've seen it happen.
