The Founders of Quantum Physics, such as Niels Bohr, sought to conduct science in a manner which makes testable, measurable predictions based on investigation of relationships between multifold aspects of experience. They were not, by contrast, concerned with defending or upholding the materialist paradigm - for that would not have been a scientific goal - in fact they did not shy away from explanations with non-materialist ramifications.

Similarly, Realistically Interpreted Orthodox Quantum Mechanics seeks to provide a rationally coherent understanding of the relationships between conscious experiences in the psyche and the physical processes occurring within our brains, drawing upon the existing evidence for quantum mechanics.

How did this radical break from materialism come about, from highly reputable physicists no less?

How does the process whereby our psyches shape physical reality work?

This is a reading from the text: Quantum Theory and Free Will. How Mental Intentions Translate into Bodily Actions. Henry P. Stapp. Published by Springer Nature, of Springer International Publishing. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. University of California. Berkeley, CA, USA, 2017.
