Quest for Glory Collection, Fighter 100% in 5:21:46 by davidtki
The first ever speedrun of the full series getting full points in every game as a fighter!
Due to bugs in the game, the maximum points we have been able to obtain in Quest for Glory 3 is 488, and that's with exploiting a bug that gets us extra points from learning paladin abilities we shouldn't be able to learn.
Hero's Quest was not the greatest start. It took me about 57 minutes to beat the game when my PB is 43 minutes. Randomness and rust can be a factor here, as you need good luck to even get going with the training. The best way to improve this time is to switch to the VGA version.
Trial by Fire is straight-forward and easy. It took about 38 minutes, with my PB being around 35.
Wages of War isn't nearly as straight-forward, but I had practiced it recently and thus it also went pretty smoothly. It took me about 48 minutes with my PB being about 47. Wages of War is the only possible place to invalidate this run because of the 488 points. HUGE credit to Zachski for making 488 even possible - it was his idea to fetch the berries and rescue the meerbat later, and he told me I could get points for asking Uhura about spear on night 4.
Shadows of Darkness was unfortunately the most out-of-practice for me, which made it difficult to remember what to do. Apart from that, I got atrocious RNG with the revenant not showing up. Shadows of Darkness took me 51 minutes when my PB is 39.
Dragon Fire had LOTS of things go wrong. I very nearly failed to give Elsa the gifts I needed to marry her, I didn't find Sarra's basket until near the end of the game, and I wandered Marete for about half an hour trying to find a grangler to get credit for it. It took me 1 hour 58 minutes to beat Dragon Fire when my PB is 1 hour 21 minutes.
All-in-all, I would say this run is awful, but it's valid and it's the first! I want to go back and improve it in the future.
