After my first session with Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire, I thought the game felt like a pretty seamless transition of the general QfG experience into early 3D--not necessarily the most aesthetically-appealing choice they could've made, but no major upheaval in what I'd come to expect from the series. I was confused by Wikipedia's claim that QfG V is an "action RPG with adventure game elements" instead of an adventure game with RPG elements.

Well, my confusion about the Wikipedia description is alleviated in this abbreviated second session, where I complete the first Rite of Rulership and commence the second, and *both* of the Rites are "go to location and then fight mob"!

Fortunately, this game has the best combat system of the series so far; unfortunately, it's really not a combat system that's well-suited to a fixed camera perspective! I'm really going to have to roll up my sleeves and figure out how to manage my footwork while using the absurd numpad controls!

Next time, though, I think I'll do a bit more exploring before getting back to the Second Rite... could there be something to learn about the contestant who was murdered near one of the Dragon Pillars?
