Quest Gets Third Person! v71 Features Missing, Vision OS 2.2 & Tons More!
1,400In today's update, we’re diving into the latest news in VR and AR tech! First, now LIV tech can be built directly into Quest Games with the standalone Creator Kit, allowing you to record your games in third person or widescreen entirely standalone! Then, I will explain why not everyone has v71 features as well as take a look at a demo of the new permission features.
Meta just opened a pop-up store for their Ray-Ban smart glasses in Los Angeles, while Pico has released a new OS changelog with enhancements for its headsets. Meanwhile, Apple’s lower-cost Vision Pro model faces delays until after 2027, and VisionOS 2.2 beta introduces an ultra-wide Mac virtual display feature. Apple is also reportedly considering smart glasses in 2027, an interesting addition to their AR lineup.
In gaming, the PSVR2 release of Gorilla Tag will not support cross-platform multiplayer, focusing gameplay on Sony's ecosystem.
