I'm back at it again with more Deltarune music! This time we've got Quiet Autumn, which I personally think is perfect for this time of year given that we're in the middle of spring heheh... This arrangement feels like a sequel to my cover of Quiet Water from last year, which makes sense considering they share a leitmotif.
Say hello to my new kalimba! I'm so happy to have finally included it in a video! I actually bought it last summer, but I haven't had a chance to use it on YouTube until now. So what's different about this kalimba vs the one you saw in some of my older videos? It's in a different key and it has an extra row on top, which has some chromatic notes and a couple lower notes as well. In addition to kalimba, there's also something special about the piano part - it has octaves in the right hand. I usually don't write octaves for my piano parts because my small hands can only reach them if I pull my hand back to the edge of the keys and take my time aiming for them (aka whole notes at a slow tempo, which I've done with the left hand), but I was determined to make it work this time and sure enough it did! I'm not planning on playing any ninths or seventh chords (with all four notes in root position) any time soon, or octaves at a faster tempo, but I'm still proud of this achievement nonetheless. Aside from kalimba and piano, this arrangement includes some classic V-Ron marimba rolls, the glockenspiel/toy piano combo, ands bowed vibes, which I think all work together to create that peaceful forest atmosphere!
