New April Fools game from PBG (Seihou creator) just dropped.
This time it's based off a really obscure game released some time after Banshiryuu, known as "MATE MATE Question Gaiden !?" (also a rough translation), also made by him.
You move around trying to kill enemies with your comically large pen. Moving around makes it move in the opposite direction after you stop moving. The pen will damage enemies and absorb bullets and lasers. Holding Z will keep the pen in place, and absorbing bullets and lasers makes a warning line grow. You'll unleash a laser by releasing Z. Shift makes you move faster, so you can sweep across and kill enemies. This is the main form of scoring this.
Your health also decreases slowly over time, and faster when you're taking hits. You restore it by killing enemies.
I tried going for over 5 minutes, but I managed to get over 6!
...Which is where the game has enough of your shit and decides "ok, die already". Oh well.
This is actually really fun, sad that it's getting deleted tomorrow.
It's no VIVIT-99R (that was very hard to top) but I still liked it a lot...
