Rabi-Ribi: Irisu SP on BEX - 0% Items [No Consumables/Buffs] *BEX 0% Items is DONE!*
Well this WAS actually a really freaking challenging run, but it is done, it IS possible!!
After a bit over 100 hours of playtime on this savefile, BEX 0% Items is complete!!!
And nearly all of it was without Consumables or Buffs!!!
So it all ends with Irisu, who is probably the hardest boss in this entire playthrough.
I entered her room at 93 hours playtime and left it at the 106 hours mark, sooo yeah its quite hard- IMO hardest boss fight in this, Seana 1 is 2nd hardest.
So lets get right into it, there is a ton to talk about this fight:
0:16 Timing is very imporant here.
The Rainbow Charge hits Irisu, then start shooting her with blue shots, not the other way around.
You need Ribbon to start charging MP before the first Amulet Debuff Ring.
0:22 Rainbow Boost, Amulet all of the rings except 2nd one. Depending on how you do this, you will either end up with half an Amulet, or a nearly filled one, timing is important.
You should be able to hit Irisu with another Rainbow Charged right before she leaves.
0:42 I rarely ever use the hover chesee, but there is a justification for this and that is; this boss doesnt play fair in at least 1 attack (4:55) this attack can be literally impossible, many times causing you to waste Amulets depending on how bad your luck is.
So I decided to use the hovering on this other attack as a form of "compensation" if you will- if the boss does unfair cheap shots like that, then I dont feel bad about doing some unfair chesee myself.
So, this is self-explanatory. Jump and do the hovering trick.
I am actually holding back on doing too much damage on the 1st phase because I dont want to go to Phase 2 too early; ideally you are entering Phase 2 at 2:36. Why? Amulets, thats why.
Optimally, you enter the first Transition attack (2:45) with:
3 and a quarter of an Amulet, Full HP & BP and SS/SSS Rank.
Refer to the video itself on how to accomplish this. Generally you want to use Rainbow basic shots to fill your BP but at the same time not damage Irisu too much.
The 1st Transition attack 2:48, pixel perfect jumps... well not quite pixel perfect; far from it actually, but its certainly one of the toughest jumps in the whole game.
It MAY look easy, but its not, because you need to jump at a specific height to get past these; too low and you wont make it, too high and you will hit the ceiling.
You really need to tap the jump key JUST the right amount.
All I can say here is practice, practice, practice this.
It looks impossible at first but trust me, gets easier over time with muscle memory.
3:05 Rainbow Boost as soon as you hear this sound. Done correctly, you should get past this entire attack just getting hit once. This is the best way to do it.
3:15 1 or 2 Amulets for this, you shouldt need more than that.
3:59 Sound cue. Fire your Rainbow Charged about 1 second or so after there are no more shooting sounds and you should hit her.
4:38 It is possible to get past this attack with just, 1 Amulet but I havent found a consistent way to do it...I will leave this one for you to figure out, but I think it should be something along these lines.
4:50 You should be entering the 3rd phase about now.
4:55 As I said earlier, this is RNG. You can spend anywhere from 1 to 3 Amulets depending on how much Irisu hates you that run. I was lucky and I only had to use 1 this time.
5:15 For the clones you really want to have enough BP to use a Rainbow Boost.
This along with an Amulet will finish off all clones.
Hug the wall and try your best to keep all the clones away from you. This is also kind of RNG based because of their spawns, but hopefully you can pull it off. Its better to use the Amulet at the end so that it also hits the real Irisu and you get to also keep your Rank!
6:20 No matter how hard you try, sadly you wont be able to finish her off before her Debuff Rings.
Speaking about them, they are a death sentence.
From this point onwards, you cant afford to get hit *at all*, no mistakes allowed-even if you got here with full HP; it will reduce your HP low enough so that anything will kill you in 1 hit anyway.
Hardest part is probably the last couple of 3rd phase attacks.
8:26 I had to pause, but there was nothing going on at that point anyway, so nobody can accuse me of pause buffering or something ridiculous (Not like that is a thing in this game anyway).
9:03 Endurance Phase by itself isnt that hard and its actually quite short; nerves might kick in because you are finally at the very end and you only have like 1 HP, but try to not panic;
You are almost there!

Overall I had a lot of fun doing this BEX 0% Items run! Of course it had more than a few frustrating spots, but I dont regret trying it at all. I think it may be the hardest overall playthrough I did so far.
