Rabi-Ribi: Learning AFD Boss Buffs with Irisu!
16(Not the actual fight) I decided to document all I have learned about how AFD implements the buffs the bosses get purely for information’s sake since I cant seem to find it anywhere. There is no better candidate for showing this than Irisu!
The video itself covers almost everything about the buffs.
I just want to add something about:
1:28 (99 Reflect)
Green Basic Shots are overall the best way to deal with this buff. You will never deal over 99 damage with them.
Yellow Laser also seems to work, but...Green Basic Shot is just better since it covers more range + recovers MP.
Honestly half the difficulty of these AFD Boss Fights is remembering when 99 Reflect is going to come up so it doesnt catch you off guard. For this, I usually look at when Null Melee is active- thats my signal that I should stop attacking in about 10 seconds or so.
Defense Up (#12) is actually right before 99 Reflect (#13), however the Null Melee (#11) buff icon is easier to recognize, so I use that as a clue instead.
You can quickly see its icon with your peripheral vision while figthing; I find its a lot harder to do it with the Defense Up Blue Face icon :P (additionally, AFD!Defense Up icon may get confused with the Boss-at-Low-HP Defense Up icon, soo.. that another reason to just use Null Melee as warning)
All of this may not look very important but TRUST ME it is, especially the later into the game you are- these buffs can potentially change the tide of the fight.
Also- not that it matters since I was obviously messing around- but why the heck the Rainbow Charged Shot at 2:18 didnt come out? It costed EN, but it didnt spawn.. uh... weird.
Finally, if you notice something odd with my stats or Irisu’s level or anything thats not coherent with the last AFD video; thats because this video was actually made waaay after I actually beat Irisu. It really shouldt be an issue though.
