Rabi-Ribi: Forgotten Maiden All Phases NONSTOP on AFD+BEX-Incredibly Intense [No Consumables/Buffs]
Forgotten Maiden beaten on ADF+BEX under all of these conditions!... I really love this fight so much, especially when you dont use checkpoints and have to do it all in 1 run. It makes it feel a lot more like a proper Final Boss; it just makes for a nice spot to say "I did it. I beat the game!"
Of course, the BNA Bosses are still out there. But as far as I am concerned. If you are playing on anything above Base BEX difficulty, you can consider this fight as the moment you beat the game.
The main reasons are:
1) The actual story/plot is over at this point, theres really no story reason on why the BNA versions of the Bosses even exist, so I like to think, canonically, this is Erina and Ribbon’s very last fight.
2) The BNA Bosses on BEX already have some of the most insanely difficult patterns to dodge as it is. When you play them on any of the higher difficulties, they are downright broken. You cant really speedkill them due to their high HP/multiple phases, and trying to tank wont work if most of the stuff is literally undodgeable...Its simply not possible, not without Consumables or Buffs at least.
So I see BNA Bosses as bonus/extra. If I can do them, then cool. If I cant, then oh well, I already beat the game anyway.

Phase 1, Post-HUD [2:54]
Interestingly enough, it seems the Unstable "buff" affects how long the hudless segment is...
Phase 2 [9:00]
Not all that different from non-AFD mode, to be honest.
Phase 3 [11:19]
Hardest part right there. Its the final stretch! Gotta remain very focused...
Bullet Hell Endurance Phase [18:18]
This used to sort of scare me, but at this point I became so familiarized with the hitboxes its almost completely trivial.
So, for this fight I once again decided to use Impossible difficulty strats and thus actually went full Defense- I tried doing this with ATK Trade but its really too risky, you cant quite speedkill this fight and its really too much effort for very little reward in this case.
DEF Trade seems better, but even then its no walk in the park- the fight by itself is already fairly difficult, and when you add the AFD Buffs on top of it... yeah.
99 Reflect also makes the fight drag on for even longer since you cant really attack EriNoah while she has that active. That coupled with the ever present Erina/Ribbon Skill Lock mechanic means this fight will be REALLY long (Longest Rabi-Ribi fight to date, I believe).
The secret to this fight is having good enough consistency with most of the attacks from all phases, and for AFD you can argue you also need to be good at multitasking:
You have the Skill Lock bar AND the AFD Buff Chain to pay attention to, as well as, you know, the attacks themselves.
That plus the fact the fight is extremely long means it can get quite taxing. It feels so good when you finally get everything right and beat it, though.
Huge shoutouts to the Fairies, they REALLY helped me here.
I mean, they always help, but this time they were the real MVP- proccing at total of 3 (!) times during the fight, the most I have seen so far. Also the fact they (literally) kept the run alive at 2:58 lol.

So, thats it!
AFD Mode is indeed beatable on BEX difficulty, and without any Consumable or Buff, as well.
I think you could divide the challenge of the AFD mode in two parts:
1) Exploration Segment. The overworld progression is completely changed, since AFD Blocks will be in the way, so you have to figure out what to do/where to go next. It is mostly an issue for the first 2-3 Chapters, after that it opens up.
It does however need some rather convoluted tricks/knowledge to progress however. At no point you need to use any sort of game breaking glitch though, so thats a plus if using glitches isnt your thing. It all could theorically be done in the regular game, you just dont need to.
2) AFD Buffs. Well, I already made an entire video dedicated to them so I am not going to deep into them but, basically, you will want to memorize their order, particulary after you beat Noah. It changes the flow of the fights somewhat and I think its interesting and not really cheap, except 99 Reflect is perhaps a bit too much of a game-changer, and Unstable can actually also be a pain since it can break certain patterns. All in All giving Bosses extra buffs is a neat idea, I liked it.
I certainly recommend giving it a try, but probably not before doing a couple of playthroughs/knowing the maps well. It probably would be a good idea to do it after you do a 0% run- it feels a lot like that early on.
