Rita on AFD, while not really the hardest, IS probably the trickiest, and most convoluted boss to beat. You need to do this fight in a very specific way so it ends before she gets a chance to start the platforming section/2nd phase of the fight.

"Oh you just use Purple Boost on her and kill her, thats not hard at all"

Its not really quite as straightforward as that, though.
If you try to fight normally and attempt that, you will find out its not going to work the hard way, because she will be at her Extreme+ version and will have waaaaay too much HP & defense...

Instead, focus purely on surviving first, while you should still attack Rita, its done purely for stalling purposes; you are NOT supposed to damage her too much, avoid dropping her HP too far- If you do, she will do her 4:40 attack early and that attack NEEDS to happen later...Just stick to Hammer Drill spam + some Red Charges for a bit more SP.

The reason for this is that at the 3:00 mark, Rita changes to her Right/Left path. Her HP bar will refill at this point, so all the damage you may have done before this point is irrelevant.
Its also why we just want this fight to be over before the 2nd phase begins; Rita Extreme+ is already luck based as it is; we dont need to add HP refilling or AFD buffs to the list, really...

The plan is: You want Rita to start the 4:40 attack right at around the 4 and half minutes mark- right when she gets 99 Reflect for the 2nd time. So from 3:00 onwards, start to chip away at her HP in a way that she begins this attack at this exact moment.

She will be at her non-Extreme path at this point, and the Purple Boost will actually work. She will soon change to her Extreme path (Notice the sudden change on HP and level), and should be at low HP thanks to that early Purple Boost.
99 Reflect WILL eat all of your HP, but thanks okay; the fight should be over shortly if you did all of this correctly...

After that, its just a matter of finishing her off; with the right setup of items/badges, you should be able to do so before she lands on the ground and starts the 2nd phase.

Just like in vanilla, Bunny Memories stalling (3:35 is a great example) is very useful. Keep in mind you cant afford to actually use it until the Purple Boost attack, otherwise Rita will most likely survive...

So yeah, this is essentiality the Purple Boost strat but its x10 times more convoluted to pull off than it normally is, thanks to AFD’s shenanigans.
Once you figure the route/timings out, its not really that hard.
The real challenge was actually figuring this out in the first place...

5:35 First time I ever saw Instant Death outside of a boss fight, even if it was just 2 seconds. The sudden, unexpected music change startled me a bit I wont lie xD
