An RAF Police NCO based in Nad-e Ali district has become the first RAF female to take up the close support policing role in Afghanistan.

Corporal Abi Newey goes out on patrol with 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment.

As a close support police NCO she will oversee the arrest and detention of Taliban suspects, the recording of data, stop and search and the sensitive topic of searching females.
