I always liked the Raiden games because they were simple and approachable, as I've stated in my prior encounters with the series on this channel. This carries the same vibe, but with I think 7 different fighter styles? It's more of everything, but not in a bad way. There's even more going on in the fighting, but it doesn't feel cluttered and there's always a combination of fighter and weapon that will let you find your play style. Unfortunately, Raiden convinces you to relax and....well, relaxing during a shmup makes me die a lot.
