Rain World /r/Place Timelapse
611/r/Place is a Reddit project that has happened twice now as an April Fool's Thing. For a few days reddit will put up a part of their site where anybody can place pixels on a canvas with a cooldown of 5 minutes per pixel. This makes it to where in order to get anything done you have to work with communities to make art pieces/advertising spots.
Rain World's discord server organized together to make four separate art pieces on /r/place during its 3 day run. This is a VERY fast running timelapse of that time. I helped with the efforts and suggested various alliances and design changes myself in the thick of it all. (most notably I was the one to get everybody to extend Hunter's head down into his full body sprite)
Our notable allies were Outer Wilds, Girls Last Tour, Macedonia, The Indie Game Alliance, a Racket programming school club, Dead Cells, Yuru Camp, Paranormal Order: Enigma of Fear, Helluva Boss: Loona. With soft alliances with Finland and Sonic.
Our enemy was XqC, whose fanbase ransacked one of our pieces completely at one point. We received no other notable attacks.
Our most precious ally was the Outer Wilds fandom, as we set up together and constantly helped each other all three days with constant communication. We had people from Rain World try out Outer Wilds, and people from Outer Wilds try out Rain World as a result of the alliance. Much love of videogames was shared.
