If you dont clear the first 2 rounds, just restart the map. There is a "random seed" each time a map is loaded which determines which exact preset path the monsters take. The amount of difference is very small, but it will cause certain early game tower placements to fail or succeed simply depending on which random seed is generated. Restart until you successfully clear the early rounds and you should be good to go.
