๐ช Ralph World ๐ช Ep 15: Media Literacy, a Discussion of our Understanding of Media and Tell vs Show
The definition of Media Literacy is "the ability to critically analyze stories presented in the mass media and to determine their accuracy or credibility." In movies and television, this reflects the public's ability to analyze and understand what they are viewing. Some feel that in this era of storytelling, media literacy has fallen off, and that audiences don't fully retain or understand what they are watching. On top of that, modern writing seems to fall into the trap of "show don't tell". These two things combined create a less interesting experience in modern viewing, but which started first and are we on our way out of that? Let's talk about it.
