One of my fav teachers from music school has a new project, and it's pretty cool. Check it out here: https://www.pozible.com/project/endangered-music-volume-one

Greg Simmons is basically a wizard, but so are the Moken kids who can control their pupils. Watch the BBC clip here: https://youtu.be/YIKm3Pq9U8M

If you're interested in Sound Expeditions, check out the website: https://www.soundexpeditions.com/ - turns out the recordings aren't actually on the recordings page, those are just photos, but there's some audio in the FAQ section.

Greg Simmons taught me audio skillz back when I was studying at the Australian Institute of Music, and we've kept in touch ever since. He's a cool guy, a pun master, and the king of dad jokes despite not actually being a dad! He's also incredibly passionate about traditional music and cultural preservation, so he travels through remote areas making high quality recordings of the performers in the villages he visits. He's so dedicated to his guerrilla ethnomusicology that I don't think he's been back to Sydney in years! His latest project is called "Endangered Music of the Sea Gypsies - Volume 1: The Moken of the Andaman Sea", and he has plans to start up on YouTube in the hopefully near future.

The song snippet at the end is "Catch 22" from my Asexuality EP: https://destroyermariko.bandcamp.com/album/asexuality
