Random Revisit: Return to The Return of the Obra Dinn
It's been long enough since I first played Obra Dinn such that I forgot most of what happened in and decided to go ahead and replay it. I wasn't sure if this would mean finishing it or just playing a decent chunk, but I was enjoying it so much that I went ahead and pushed through to the end doing it 2 hours faster than I did originally back in 2018 according to the in game timer. Admittedly, I did have some mostly gentle hints from chat this time as well which may have helped perhaps a lot even.
If you don't know The Return of the Obra Dinn it's a fantastic puzzle game from the guy who made Papers, Please where you are an insurance adjuster who must go onto a ghost ship and work out how precisely who everyone on it was and precisely how they died. Fortunately, you can relive the last moment of each victim's lives and through these glimpses work out all the details. It's an incredible conceit, brilliantly executed on. Also, it looks seriously amazing.
I'll say, I'd like to do more Random Revisits in the future like this, though I do not promise to beat them all the way every time. Only when I really really want to and, ideally, have the time.
