(Rant) Misconceptions About Abyss of Legends - MCOC
My notes:
You don't actually need Aegon to do a completion run
Yes he's nice to have, yes he makes planning for abyss simpler, yes he makes the collector way easier...
but there are many, cost efficient completion runs of abyss spanning multiple different paths that did not utilise aegon.
------
thousands of units sounds like a lot. and it is, but patience, unit grinding, potion/revive grinding all help mitigate this. the abyss isn't going anywhere, and its only going to get (theorhetically) easier over time as rosters grow, develope, and we see new contenders for "Abyss horsemen" looking at you magneto
----
Easy and cheapest are not synonymous
there are many fights in abyss that can be one shot and are therefore potentially very cheap fights, but this does not necessarily mean they are easy. one example is torch one-shot vs IMIW, this is a very skill consistent fight, and partially reliant on IMIW not evading at an in opportune moment
----
cheaper is not always better
some fights are mechanically challenging, or patience challenging. this is where you as a player should really evaluate where your priorities are. multiple times I took a sub-optimal champion for many reasons
1. the sub optimal was a much more straightforward playstyle, so while I was getting less damage per revive, I had a much easier time doing so
2. the sub optimal was strictly faster, some of the one-shots involve a lot of SP3's especially if you are using doom, and this can be very mentally draining as you proceed with a 45 min fight
3. I didn't want to rank up the optimal champion, I was fine taking a 400-800 unit loss if it meant I didn't need to rank up and sig up my void, that's a personal preference but something you should consider
