[Synopsis]

This video shows you how to install Steam Link on a Raspberry Pi 4, and link it with another desktop PC which is running Steam. Although everything worked fine, the major problem with Steam Link are the controls, because you cannot use a mouse in any games. Playing a 3d shooter with a game pad is hard to do, but that is me. I am gamer, so I am not used to playing those types of games with a game pad. For video game console players, they may find this acceptable.

The point of using this was to allow you to play steam games in your living room, you do need to link into a PC to play it. The feature is available on every desktop computer, and it is called remote play. This enables you to play games on any PC as long as you have a fast LAN(local area network) internet connection. Let's say I have a core2duo based computer, and I have Steam on it. I have another computer which is also connected to Steam with the latest graphics card + cpu, and tons of ram on it. I can connect to the more powerful computer to play games from another part of the house. The concept is the same with Steam Link.

[Commands]
Start terminal ► "Alt" + "Ctrl" + "T"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install steamlink

to start, type in steamlink in terminal
to get it to start on boot, type in sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart .

To exit out of Steam Link ► "Alt" + "F4"
