These are some of the reasons why I don't care about my rating in Guild Wars 2 PvP, but not necessarily why you shouldn't try to improve and increase your ranks.

Imagine trying to prove how good you are but you can only barely carry a 4v5 as mes thief during Aussie prime time. YIKES. Shorts is a very good player and definitely top 10 worthy, you can learn a lot from him, but do not learn this from him.
