Raw Acoustics #2: Cave Opera
Hey guys! Last week I went into a big cave with some friends to record an epic video while singing some good old Edvard Grieg classical romance! The acoustics and ecco were sick in there and it felt so amazing to hear your own voice thunder through the walls!
This is the second music video in our new "Raw Acoustics" series. The concept is to find epic natural locations and record music in one take. Live music, real emotions, completely raw and stripped down.
We feel like music made nowadays often is very streamlined in studios where lots of effects are added to completely dry audio tracks. We want to make a statement that beautiful natural acoustics can still be used in professional sounding recordings to give people that "live" feeling of being at the actual location. Since this is a fresh idea and a new production, we would love to hear your feedback in the comments below! Also if you have a sick place we shoud visit, let us know!
We recorded with two cameras and two microphones to adjust the angles afterwards. No editing or cuts has been done to the sound clip except basic equalizer.
Big thanks and shoutout to Thomas Brun the camera guy and Kalle Moberg for playing the accordion like a boss!
Song used in recording: Edvard Grieg - Guten (The Boy) from Op.33
