RE: Atheists Raise 100k for Tornado Survivor...who is also an atheist....
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SCOLD ME!!!! :)
I understand giving. I do not understand giving only because of the way a person thinks about god or life. I think it would have been more effective to give it to a neighborhood, but hey, what do I know? I am only one point of view.
Just a person who cares...and understands cultural differences, and embraces them.
Look, I appreciate ALL forms of charity, and if that's what it takes to make an impact then so be it. My issue is not that atheists gave. And to an extent, not even that they gave to an atheist.
People are people.
My issue is with the atheists who;
1) Act superior to religious folk because of their belief
2) Create organizations for their non-belief, then claim to be indifferent.
3) Lump ALL religions together as 'uninformed' and laugh at them
4) Fail to admit to themselves that they, too, need groups to discuss their lack of belief.
5) Make ridiculous analogies comparing religious folks to believers in leprechauns, ewoks, flying spaghetti monster etc.
Let's just agree to live together here, this is supposed to be a modern society...whatever that means :) No need to be snide. I have seen crude comments by atheists, and after a brief visit to their page found that they visit almost EXCLUSIVELY religious videos to comment. That doesn't sound like conviction to me, but hey, like I said...It's just my opinion.
Peace and love-
:)
