RE: LOL! Tag Response BLOOPER
Just my 2 cents in reply to the tag by using the reponse by MaximumRD. The virtual is not equivalent to the real thing, it may be close enough to be compatible at very high dregrees, but not the same thing; and that's, why for programmers like me, it's better to be able to test on the real thing as much as possible the different software projects. In the cartoon, this is represented as first it's a cartoon, not the real MaximumRD, and also the ColecoVision used as a phone in answer to phones used to play ColecoVision games.
It's my style of cartoon, with missing arms because the Flash version I'm using don't include the hability to use a skeleton and I was tired after 10 hours. So it's useless to comment about the missing arms. Instead, did you notice the message in the cartoon? or even notice the Atari logo used for the belt buckle?
Think about it, it took me a little more than 10 hours to do that. To me, it's my first try and I think it worthed the effort.
SOFTWARE USED
AUDACITY (FREE) : Capture and edit audio sequences. I've captured the audio from Rob's video, cut a few pauses, remove the background noise, and amplify some parts. Duration : 5 minutes.
PAPAGAYO (FREE) : Lip-syncing program designed to help lining up phonemes (mouth shapes) with the actual recorded sound of actors speaking. Simply need the audio file and typing the text and then align one by one phrases and words to match the audio the best as possible. Duration : 25 minutes.
ADOBE FLASH (NOT FREE) : Drawing+Animation timeline based tool with vector graphics support. The Latest version includes "bone" feature, which I don't have, to create skeletons inside the drawing to make it move more easily to make cartoons. Instead I've used a few motion twean effects and do my best to fit the audio playing with the mouth shapes sequence I had to hardcode almost frame by frame based on the file made with Papagayo. Because of the lack of "bone" feature, things like arms moving around is not easy and need a lot of time. In fact, up to 90% of the time to do this cartoon was to deal with Flash and make tweak a few things here and there, addind details, and so on. Duration : more than 9 hours with frustration sometimes.
Hope you enjoyed the video!
Special thanks to MaximumRD and MarkVergeer!
