Also humans are not Vulcans. Therefore, there's a 0% chance any human will ever act logically, ever. Pon farr all goddamned year, every year. Vulcans are bad. Artistotle, a human, invented logic, but that's impossible that he's logical; I mean, ever. That would be boring.
Movies aren't puzzles. Agatha Christie, AC Doyle, Raymond Chandler, et al. They were just making emotionally charged stories about someone mysteriously dying and then some other fellow either dying themselves or being put in jail for some reason. How dramatic. It's what it's about, you undefined plot hole.
Writers should just stop using logic. And reason. And then something or other, or movies wouldn't have conflict. And that would be BORING
