0In React, a functional component is a JavaScript function that returns JSX (JavaScript XML) to describe the user interface. It is one of the two types of components in React, the other being class components. Functional components are also sometimes referred to as "stateless components" because they don't have their own internal state
Functional components are commonly used in React because they are simpler and easier to read and test compared to class components. They are also more lightweight and can have better performance in certain scenarios. With the introduction of React Hooks in React 16.8, functional components gained the ability to manage state and use lifecycle methods previously only available in class components, further enhancing their capabilities.
Stateless components, also known as "pure components" or "functional components," are components in React that do not have their own internal state. These components are primarily focused on presenting data and receiving props from parent components to render their output.
Stateless components are implemented as regular JavaScript functions or arrow functions that return JSX. They receive data through props and use that data to render the user interface. Since they don't manage any state, they are simpler and easier to understand and test.
Stateless components are useful when the component's output is solely based on the props it receives and doesn't need to manage any state or perform complex logic.
