[READ DESCRIPTION/PINNED COMMENT] [LOTAD] Fossil Fighters Any% (with cheats) in 3:15:52 (RTA Timing)
4This is NOT an original copy of Fossil Fighters. I had a friend (shoutouts to SpoinKoza) patch some AR codes into the ROM itself. Those codes are:
The ability to walk through walls when holding either shoulder button (I primarily use the L shoulder button)
The ability to instantly get 100 points on any cleaning when the L shoulder button is pressed during the cleaning minigame
Maximum money (this doesn't matter much during the run)
This TAS was made for experimental purposes, to show off what could be skipped without the normal limits of gameplay. Most of the story is still required, but a lot can be skipped if you can get around certain triggers. Most notably, some fights in the Digadigamid, the seminar, saving Rosie from the Denture Sharks, the entirety of the Mt. Lavaflow Duna sequence, and just about the entire BB Occupation arc except for the second Bullwort battle.
A LOTAD, or Low Optimization Tool-Assisted Demonstration (not to be confused with the Pokemon), is a TAS which sacrifices actual speed, in favor of ease of production, and is meant to simply be a demonstration of something. Aside from everything that's skipped, less optimized movement allows me to focus more on experimenting with battle routing, including the utilization of Guan and removal of Goyle, never before done in RTA runs. I think the actual FF Any% TAS will get both Goyle and Guan, as Goyle's +30% attack boost may prove useful in later fights.
