I'm reading The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. It has some serious dark and violent parts (a couple times where torture is described, for example), which isn't my usual cup of tea, but it is very inventive and well done. Here's my review:
Harry August is born again each time he dies. Same life, but memories intact. It takes awhile to discover he is not alone in this, and even longer for a girl with a message from the future to get to him in order to tell him the end of the world is speeding up, and he’s the one who can put it right.
The rest of his lives are spent chasing his friend, his enemy (view spoiler) through lives and across countries is a cat and mouse that goes both ways.
This was very well written, had an interesting plot, very funny bits and scary bits (way more violence and torture than I was comfortable with) and a twist at the end that took me by surprise.
Next time I will frame the shot better so you can see my cat Micah when he's on the ottoman, because, guaranteed, he will be there with me. And there will be another, for sure. I'll post one of these each new book I read, since I love watching them, myself.
Let me know in the comments what you read with me. I'm a librarian and I love to talk books!
