I've been on an Animorphs kick lately, re-reading the series, in part due to the re-launch of the series (the first two books) starting in May 2011.

When I was reading #27, "The Exposed" (there are 54 main books), my attention was piqued when I got to the introduction of a new character. The Drode, first appearing in this book, is described by Rachel (the narrator of this book) as having a "high, shrill, [and] grating" voice. I tried this out for myself and was pleased when the voice (at least when heard both through the air to my ears and from within my head) sounded really good.

A few weeks later (yesterday), I finally got around to recording myself reading this section of the book, using Jam Sessions for the DS (now being done on my new 3DS), the (3)DS microphone, and Audacity on my computer. I forget which chapter this is from, but I skip over the bit where the Drode is not present.

For more information about the Drode, see this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drode
