Receiver, by Wolfire Games, is an experimental, procedurally generated shooter that was conceived from a 7-day fps competition. For those who are not familiar with this interesting title, Receiver is different from other fps games in the sense that the player must micro-manage every function of their firearm; Pressing 'R' just won't do it here lads.

This speed run is single segment and technically involves me acquiring 13 cassettes out of the 11 required tapes. I grab the 11th cassette at ~7:47 (according to my timer).

This playthrough has a death-toll of 25 turrets and 18 shock-drones, thus making a total of 43 enemies that I had to subdue on my journey to listen to as many monotone mix-tapes as possible.

Note: I do have a mod installed that optimizes game performance, includes additional weapons, adds a chance of finding a magazine in ammo piles (doesn't make ammo any less scarce though), and some nice options in the menu. It does not change any core gameplay, plus I am playing with one of the stock weapons anyway (the challenging Colt M1911.)
