Later firmware versions of the HK1 Make-Up Box [MUB] halted MicroSD loading of both EmuELEC and Batocera.
We can flash the firmware to one from 2019, which will reset the box to default Android 9, and also fix these issues.
Note- You'll need a few gigabytes of space free for the firmware on your computer.
