Recreating TimeSplitters In Halo 5 [14 Map Remakes Showcase]
51This was a long term project of mine that lasted over a year. For a long time I wanted to make TimeSplitters maps in Halo's forge mode, but I didn't feel like I could do it right with the forge limitations presented in previous halo games. That changed when Halo 5's forge came out.
To download the maps, you can do a custom search in Halo 5's file browser. Search the tag 'Aegis' and/or 'Mind.' My maps should come up. PLEASE make sure you BOOKMARK the map instead of saving a copy. Saved copys show up in others search results and makes it harder for them to find the appropriate version. Each map can also be searched individually by their names. Maps with two words, such as mexican mission, will have a tag for each word.
All maps are compatible with slayer and four teams in capture the flag.I personally recommend Ice Station and Chinese for 4 Team CTF. Aztec is also pretty interesting with 4Team CTF as well.
The process of re creating the maps was very tedious. While forging, I would pull up the game on a gamecube right next to me. This allowed me to get the map proportions as accurate as possible as I would compare perspectives side by side. Some maps took a very long time, whereas Site took the least amount of time; barely under 4 days. I honestly had no idea how many maps I was going to create. I had a list from the beginning of potential maps that I thought would be fun for Halo's sandbox. Some maps turned out very well, and some were borderline fails. Hospital comes to mind. In retrospect I wish I didn't do that one. Eventually the burnout set in, and I was getting tired of forging these. Even with the help of two individuals, I pretty much solo'd 12 maps.
