Movement speed is a crucial part for a unit to be effective. Sometimes it determines a unit's power in a indirect way. Best example would be with the Apocalypse Tank. Being the strongest vehicle in the game, it heavily lacks speed losing a lot of it's potential as it is hard to chase down enemies and hard to avoid a certain defeat in battle.

A Speed Bonus from a crate will slightly increase a unit's movement speed. The Veterancy of a unit will also increase a unit's movement speed and in most cases it provides a much better speed. Elite units do not gain any further increase in movement speed. Veterancy and the Speed Bonus from a crate stack and can create a very fast vehicle.

The fastest vehicle in the game is the Terror Drone alongside the IFV. However, since the Terror Drone can't be promoted, a promoted IFV with a Speed Bonus can outrun a Terror Drone with a Speed bonus.

Vehicles move slower when they are damaged. When their health bar reaches the orange color, they start to move slower. Any further damage will not reduce their speed. There is only one level of decrement. Vehicles will also move slower above Ore. Both of these situations do not apply for infantry.
